Why is Basic Skincare important?

Taking care of your skin and developing a skin care routine is important because it can help this organ do its job better and longer. Also, you need to have a skincare routine that is right for your skin type because not all regimens are perfect for all skin types. If you’re using the wrong formula for your skin, it actually can have adverse effects on it.

My experience

I started my skincare routine in early 2017. Before that I used a local product, yeah you know the whitening product, gonna make your face white as heck. I really really regret using that kind of product. Because at first your face is gonna be so beautiful, flawless and all but after you stopped using the product my skin becomes dark and I got papules on my face! I cried.

That time I didn’t even know what is this acne, why is it so many on my face. That product makes my pores soo big! I was like where did this big pores come from? *cries*

Annnd sooo I decided to make my own skincare routine. I wrote it in my notebook. It’s not that hard actually. I bought the cleanser, moisturiser and toner at Watsons or Guardian and my budget is not more than Rm 100. You have to be hardworking and don’t be a lazy ass if you want a healthy skin. Also, don’t forget to drink a lot of water and exercise!

Not sure how to determine what your skin care type is? Don’t worry I got ya!

Dry – If your face feels tight and pores aren’t noticeable to the eye.
Normal – If your skin feels smooth and pores are barely visible. It’s also is neither dry or oily.
Oily – If your face is oily all over with visible pores.
Combination – If your skin feels smooth but has oiliness in the T-zone.

My skin type is dry so I have to buy a moisturiser that is for dry skin and cleanser that have a creamy texture. I literally avoid moisturiser product that has Alcohol and SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)/SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate). Both irritate my skin and makes my skin feel uncomfortable.

Sometimes it’s hard to find a suitable skin care product for your face, that’s why we have to trial and error. Make a patch test first to see if it will work for your skin. You can get a pretty severe acne or allergic reactions if you ignore this.

After I follow my skincare routine Alhamdulillah my skin is gotten better, I still got a little bit of acne but not that severe like before. Now I know which product is suitable for me and which are not. My goal is to get a clear healthy and clear skin! Yep, that’s right!

Sincerely, Nini.
